Three great anime scenes that will have you reaching for a tissue

Here are three great scenes from some of my favourite anime or cartoon shows and movies that match up a sad scene perfectly with sad music. Epic scenes that will have you reaching for a tissue box – for your tears.

1. Metropolis (Near the end of the film) Tima Falls to the ground As The ziggurat Crumbles

The song is “I Can’t Stop Loving You” performed by Ray Charles but originally written by Don Gibson, a country singer.

 

2. Samurai Champloo (Episode 14) Mugen’s near drowning experience

The song is called “Obokuri-Ee Umi”, performed by Ikue Asazaki and released on her 2002 album, Utabautayun.

3. The Lion King – Mufasa’s death, the stampede scene.

The song is “To Die For” by Hans Zimmer.
